Selection Committee
The Selection Committee for the Fund comprises representation from
NZAID Nga Hoe Tuputupu-mai-tawhiti, the Council for International
Development (CID), the Ministry of Education, and the Development
Resource Centre (DRC). Each of these agencies determines their representative.
NZAID Nga Hoe Tuputupu-mai-tawhiti
NZAID is the New Zealand government agency responsible for international
assistance to developing countries. New Zealand's aid helps to eliminate
poverty and create a safe and just world, particularly in our own
region of the Pacific. NZAID stands for the New Zealand Agency for
International Development, Nga Hoe Tuputupu-mai-tawhiti - the paddles
that bring growth from afar. NZAID is a semi-autonomous body of the
NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. www.nzaid.govt.nz
Council for International Development (CID)
CID is the umbrella agency for NZ NGOs (non-government organizations)
working in international aid and development. CID currently has 79
members. www.cid.org.nz
Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education is the government agency responsible for
education across NZ, and covers early childhood, primary, secondary
and tertiary education, and adult and continuing education. www.minedu.govt.nz
Development Resource Centre
The Development Resource Centre (DRC) is a specialist information
and global education centre in Aotearoa New Zealand. It has two key
programmes: the Global Education Centre www.globaled.org.nz and Dev-Zone
www.dev-zone.org
The GEF Selection Committee assesses applications and recommends applications for funding to NZAID. The Selection Committee assesses applications against eligibility requirements, selection criteria, and application form requirements. Funding is approved within NZAID. The DEVELOPMENT RESOURCE CENTRE administers the application process.
